The Thieves' Hole is a large ditch in the woods not far along the path from the Wizard Inn. It may have been a medieval holloway or an early form of boundary defence [12]. Until further research is done we won't know for certain the purpose of the Thieves' Hole. In the Legend of the Wizard the farmer met an old man at the Thieves' Hole who turned out to be a wizard on the farmer's return.
